Our trip to Queens Park
This is us sitting in the bus. We are happy!
This is us looking at the plants. Connor is looking at the plants up high!
We learned that the fly catchers catch flies. We learned about the Sap in plants, it is like water!
Here is the Cockatoo. Javarn learned that it has a sharp beak to crack nuts!
The Cockatoo talked to us, but we couldn't really understand what he was saying to us. He repeats what he hears from humans.
He can sometimes be very lazy!
This was our last stop for our visit and it was to see the Deer! They have antlers to protect themselves from other animals. This is a stag. Some stags live in the wild. The antlers come off once a year and they grow new ones.

Brady's Handwriting
I like handwriting because it is fun and I get to write my name. I have written the letter D. All my letters are sitting nicely on the line.

Term 2
We have started of the Term by looking at Living Creatures. We have a good display of books and pictures of animals. We have talked about the word "camouflage" and how animals adapt to their environments.
Here is our classroom display....
We have learned that all living things need food, shelter, water, and oxygen to breathe to survive in their environment.
We have talked about the Elephant. The Elephant has a long trunk so it can drink water, this helps it to survive in it's environment. It also has long ears to help it hear things coming from a long way away. The Elephant skin is brown or grey so they can camouflage themselves from other living creatures.
The mountain goat adapts to it's environment by having hooves on the bottom of its feet so it can grip onto the rocks and mountains without slipping. If it didn't have these it would not survive in its environment.
